The ALICE Board of Directors and Executive Group provide the strategic direction of the association, ensuring that its activities remain aligned with the needs of its members, its mission, and its role as the European Technology Platform for logistics.
Together, they guide ALICE’s priorities, support the development of its strategic agenda and strengthen the connection between members, Thematic Groups, projects and European research and innovation policy.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is responsible for the strategic oversight of ALICE.
It supports the long-term development of the association, ensures alignment with ALICE’s mission and vision, and provides guidance on priorities, partnerships, member value and organisational development.
The Board brings together senior representatives from the logistics and supply chain ecosystem. Its role is to help ALICE remain an effective, member-driven platform for collaborative innovation, sustainability and competitiveness in European logistics.
The Board of Directors contributes to:
- defining ALICE’s strategic direction
- supporting good governance and accountability
- ensuring alignment with member needs
- strengthening ALICE’s role in European research and innovation
- guiding priorities related to zero-emission logistics, the Physical Internet, digitalisation, resilience and innovation uptake

Executive Group
The Executive Group connects ALICE’s strategic leadership with the work carried out by its Thematic Groups and programmes. It brings together members of the Board of Directors and the Chairs of the ALICE Thematic Groups.
This ensures that the priorities discussed at strategic level are informed by expert communities and by the practical work taking place across ALICE activities. It helps to maintain coherence across ALICE’s thematic work, roadmaps, project engagement, policy input and innovation activities.
The Executive Group supports:
- coordination between the Board and Thematic Groups
- alignment of strategic priorities and work programmes
- exchange of expertise across ALICE’s thematic areas
- identification of emerging challenges and opportunities
- stronger links between research, policy, industry needs and deployment
