General Assembly
The General Assembly is the highest authority of ALICE and brings together all members of the association.
As a member-driven European Technology Platform, ALICE relies on the General Assembly to ensure transparency, accountability and a shared sense of direction. It gives members an engaging role in reviewing ALICE’s activities, approving key decisions and shaping the future priorities of the association.
Role of the General Assembly
The General Assembly provides the main forum for ALICE members to assess progress, discuss priorities and contribute to the development of the association.
It reviews ALICE’s past, present and future activities and supports a shared vision across the European logistics and supply chain innovation community. Through the General Assembly, members can provide input on ALICE’s strategy, activity plans, internal rules, programmes and key deliverables.
In line with ALICE’s Statutes and Internal Rules, the General Assembly is responsible for key governance decisions, including:
- reviewing ALICE activities and progress
- contributing to the development of strategic priorities
- providing recommendations on activity plans and key deliverables
- supporting alignment across the ALICE membership
- strengthening transparency and accountability within the association
- ensuring that members have a voice in ALICE’s future direction
Meetings and participation
The General Assembly meets one to two times per year.
Meetings may take place in physical, online or hybrid format. Members receive the agenda and relevant documents in advance through ALICE communication channels and collaborative workspaces, allowing them to prepare and contribute effectively.
Members are encouraged to engage actively in the work of ALICE, including through Thematic Groups, activities, consultations and events.
Voting and representation
Each ALICE member has one voting right, provided that membership fees and payments are not overdue.
Members may appoint a representative or delegate to vote on their behalf, in line with the Statutes. Decisions are generally taken by a simple majority of the votes cast by members present or validly represented. Specific decisions, such as amendments to the Statutes or dissolution of the association, require a qualified majority.
Membership
ALICE membership is open to legally established organisations that support research, development and innovation in logistics and supply chains in Europe.
Organisations wishing to become members should submit a membership request to the ALICE Secretariat. New membership requests are processed according to ALICE’s internal procedures, and the General Assembly is informed of new members in line with the association’s governance rules.
